Editing Book Details

Once a book is in your collection, you can personalize it with notes, tags, reading status, quantity, and a custom cover.

  1. Go to Collection and open the book you want to edit
  2. Look for the section you want to change (Notes, Tags, Library Sharing, etc.)
  3. Tap the edit or pencil icon in that section
  4. Make your changes — they save automatically

Mark a book as Want to Read, Reading, Paused, or Completed. See Tracking your reading progress for the full flow.

Private reflections only you can see. See Adding reading notes.

Your own labels like “book-club” or “read-2025”. See Using tags.

If you own more than one copy (useful for lending):

  1. Open the book
  2. Find the Quantity control
  3. Update the number of copies you own

You can’t reduce quantity below the number currently loaned out.

If the automatic cover is wrong or missing:

  1. Open the book
  2. Tap the cover image
  3. Choose Upload Cover — take a photo or pick one from your device
  4. To revert, tap the cover again and choose Reset to default

Toggle which of your libraries each book is shared with. See Sharing books with a library.

Tap the heart icon to add or remove the book from your favorites.

Some information comes from a shared book database and is the same for everyone:

  • Title, author(s), subtitle, series
  • Description and publisher details
  • ISBN and edition metadata

If you spot incorrect global data, contact support and we’ll review it for everyone.

Library-owned books (managed by library admins) can only be edited by the library’s admins or owner. If you borrowed a book, you can still add your own private notes and tags — those stay on your copy.

If you’re having trouble editing book details, contact support.
